Tuesday, March 5 is Spring Picture Day! All students will have their pictures taken, and families will receive proofs and purchase information.

Finney’s 1st and 2nd Grade Dance Performance is Tuesday, March 5, at 5:00 p.m. in the auditorium–don’t miss it!

Finney is hosting the Oneness Home Peace Run on Thursday, March 7 at 8:00 a.m. on the blacktop. Parents are welcome to join us for this special event. Watch a video about the Peace Run here. Please wear Finney gear or blue on Thursday.

In keeping with the CVESD Wellness Policy, students should not bring junk food to school.

Internet Safety Message for Parents from CVESD: Instead of getting distracted with all the details of each type of attempt to create an unhealthy environment for children, it is important that parents and family members focus on the real issue of teaching children how to safely navigate the internet and to discuss with you when they feel uncomfortable with something.  We strongly recommend that all parents closely monitor what their children are accessing online and we will continue to support children in accessing the internet safely at school.

You are encouraged to:
* Let children know they can talk to you if upset or worried by anything they see/hear online, on the TV or during a gaming session;
* Set family rules on how to use apps, sites and games, including that children should never give out personal identifying information about themselves or anyone else;
* Use privacy settings and parental controls;
* If you notice them switching screens when you approach or if you notice new contacts (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) talk to them about it. Foster an atmosphere of openness and transparency.

Please join me in welcoming Grace Limon, Finney’s new School Secretary. She is replacing Isela Noya, who was promoted to the CVESD Facilities Department.

Shout-outs to Mrs. Lozoya’s class, Room 601 and Mrs. Showman’s class, Room 603, for having 99% attendance last week–way to go! Finney’s overall attendance was 95.6% last week. Our goal is 98%. Be sure to bring your child to school every day on time. Every minute of every day counts!
