I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we have about 1 month left of school! Let’s finish strong!
This week, we will begin testing (please see calendar below). This also marks the beginning of many fun end of year events and celebrations. Please see below for April-June at a glance as well.

• April 29: School Site Council meeting at 2:45
• May 6-10: Staff appreciation week (please see flyers below for how you can help celebrate and honor Finney’s Finest!)
• May 10: Finney Rocks Art and Music Walk 
• May 17: Quarter 4 Awards Assembly.  If your child is being recognized, you will receive an invitation from their teacher in the coming weeks. 
• May 24-27: No School in honor of Memorial Day Weekend 
• May 29: 1^st Grade Dance Performance 9:00-10:00 in the Finney auditorium. 
• On May 31: Annual field day!  Please click here to view the flyer & find information about volunteering for this event.  Our 6^th grade dance will also occur this evening! 
• June 3: Peace Run Assembly/Event 10:45-11:30 am. 
• June 4: Staff vs 6^th grade kickball game, Kinder Promotion 10:30-11:30, & 6^th grade BBQ from 11:00-1:00. 
• June 5: Our last day of school & 6^th Grade Promotion 8:30-9:30

As the end of the school year approaches, I want to make sure you know about all of the important events comings up.

Statewide Testing: Please see below for our testing calendar. Please be sure to arrive to school well-rested and on time so you can do your best, Bulldogs!

This week, we will have an ELAC/Principal’s Coffee Chat on Friday at 8:00 in the auditorium. Please see flyers below for important topics covered. We will also have a guest speaker, Ms. Miriam Gonzalez, from Dinosaur School!

We are already planning our annual Field Day! Please see flyer below for information and volunteer opportunities.

Welcome to the second week of the fourth quarter. 🙂 We had a wonderful first week back from Spring Break and are looking forward to the next.

This week, Our Finney soccer team has a game on our Finney field from 4:15-5:30 Tuesday.  Good luck, Bulldogs! 

On Thursday, some of our 6^th grade students will be honored by receiving Masonic Awards!  The assembly is from 9:45-10:15.  If your student is being honored, you will be notified by their teacher. 

In a few weeks, students will be taking statewide assessments and district local measures assessments.  We are excited to celebrate the growth and success of our students. Please be sure students arrive at school on time each day, as testing will occur in the morning.  Please reach out with any questions.  We’ve got this, Bulldogs! 

Reminder: Registration for the 24-25 school year is open.  Please visit the CVESD website to register your student(s).  Please reach out to our office team if you need support.

Good afternoon, Bulldogs! We had a fun & book-filled Read Across America week! Our Bulldogs especially loved ending the week with our guest readers and pajama day. We are looking forward to a great week ahead.

We are back to a five-day week at school. This week is also a Spirit Week in honor of Read Across America Week! On Friday, we will have guest readers, including Superintendent Reyes, community workers, and Finney staff family past & present reading to our classes. Please see below for Spirit Week information.

This Thursday will be our Spring Picture Day! We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience last week.

Good morning, Finney Families! We are looking forward to a great 4-day week at Finney!

We will continue with our ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessment for California) this week and throughout the quarter. Please remember to encourage your child to do their best. Bulldogs, you’ve got this!

Students will be celebrating heart-healthy choices with our annual Jump for Heart event on Thursday morning! Students will begin the day by jump-roping to music with their classmates and friends.

Our Friendship Dance is this Thursday. We hope to see you there! Thank you, PTA!
