kindness-550x0-550x0The Great Kindness Challenge is this week, Jan. 27-31! Join us as we spread kindness around Finney, throughout our community, and our world. Volunteers are needed Jan. 27-31 from 9:30-10:45 to supervise Kindness Challenge activities (crafts). Sign up in the office!

12-21-2018-5-53-05-AM-8625390Student Council if holding a Supply Drive for Rady Children’s Hospital during the Great Kindness Challenge (Jan. 27-31). We are collecting new coloring books, picture books, crayons, and colored pencils for children who are in the hospital. Students can bring donated items to their classroom.

Congratulations to these classrooms for having 100% attendance last week: Ms. Dehne’s Class Rm. 501, Ms. San Agustin’s Class Rm. 605, and Mr. Schafer’s Class Rm. 702. Way to go! Finney’s overall attendance last week was 95.8%; our goal is 98%. Remember, every minute of every day counts!

Your child’s report card was sent home in a large Finney envelope at the end of Quarter 2. Please KEEP the report card and SIGN & RETURN the envelope to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

Per CVESD Board Policy, we work to limit interruptions to instructional time and ensure student safety by maintaining a closed campus:

  • Once the 7:45 bell rings, the instructional day has begun; students and teachers are focusing on learning. Parents are asked to sign in at the office to obtain a badge if they have an appointment to volunteer or observe in the classroom.
  • Please make sure your child has everything they need before coming to school: Water bottles, lunches, homework, backpacks, info regarding pickup, etc. The school office is not permitted to make deliveries or interrupt classroom instruction.
