Remember, good school attendance habits are formed in elementary school, and students with poor attendance in elementary school are more likely to drop out of high school.

Holiday-Toy-and-Food-DriveFinney is collecting food (through Nov. 22) and toys (through Dec. 4) for families in need. We will have a bin for toys and a box for non-perishable food items near the office.

94146223-stock-vector-thank-you-word-bubble-Thank you to everyone who attended the Finney Fall Festival on Friday! Sending a special shout out to all the staff volunteers and parent volunteers who made it happen. We love our Finney community and your support means so much to our students!

Remember there are no costumes allowed at school on October 31st. Also, there is no candy allowed at any time.

attendance-logo-400Did you know that poor attendance in elementary school is a leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school? Remember, coming to school on every day on time is the first smart choice your child makes in their academic career. Please be a part of your child’s success by bringing them to school early. They can eat breakfast at school starting at 7:15.  School begins at 7:45 am. Students are required to be lined up on the blacktop when the bell rings at 7:45, or they are marked tardy.

The class with the highest attendance last week was Mrs. Showman’s class, Rm. 502 with 98%. Our overall attendance was 95%. Our goal is 98%.

  • Faces must not be covered up.  Masks will be allowed during parade only.
  • Costumes are to be tasteful and appropriate for elementary school.
  • Blood, guts and/or gore are not allowed.
  • Fake guns, swords, knives or anything resembling a weapon is not allowed.
  • Costumes must not require parent or adult assistance.
  • Students participating in the parade should arrive to school in their costume and remain in costume all day.
  • Students not participating will be supervised in the library.
  • No costumes allowed at school on Oct. 31.
