Welcome Back! The first day of school is Wednesday, July 20 at 7:45 a.m., and is a minimum day. Students report directly to their classroom on the first day. Breakfast is available FREE for all students and is served 7:15-7:35 a.m.

You will receive an email on Tuesday morning, July 19 letting you know your child’s classroom and teacher name. For privacy reasons, class lists will not be posted.

Finney PTA invites you to a Teacher Meet & Greet Picnic: Tuesday, July 19, 1:00-2:00 on the Finney field. Come meet your teacher and enjoy food courtesy of PTA.

We are distributing Covid-19 at-home test kits. We encourage you to test your student on Tuesday or Wednesday morning prior to returning to campus. If students test positive, keep them home to avoid exposure to other students and staff. Testing is NOT required, but highly encouraged. You can pick up your test kit(s) at the Meet & Greet Picnic on Tuesday. If you cannot make it to the picnic, we will be here until 4:00 on Tuesday 7/19.

POSITIVE test results should be sent to https://forms.office.com/r/Dcbd5R7Qgp and finneyschool@cvesd.org. There is no need to report negative test results.

Kindergarten (Mrs. Haase & Mrs. Gillespie) has a special schedule the first week of school:
Wednesday: Kindergarten Orientation 8:00-9:30 (students and parents leave at 9:30)
Thursday-Friday: Minimum Days for Kinder 12:45 Dismissal

Finney English Learner Advisory Committee needs a Parent Representative to represent Finney’s English Learner parents at the monthly District Advisory Council/District English Learner Advisory Committee (DAC/DELAC) meetings, held on Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00 at the CVESD district office. DELAC Rep. and SSC Member Nomination Forms are due August 5, and elections will take place at Back to School Night on August 11.

Please screen your child for COVID-like symptoms each day, and do not send them to school if they have fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
