Quarter 3 begins Tuesday, January 14, and is a Minimum Day with 1:00 Dismissal.

Congratulations to the Finney team and community! The California Department of Education recognized Finney as an Exemplary Arts Education School. We are one of just 13 schools in the state to receive this award this year.

Your child’s report card was sent home in a large Finney envelope at the end of Quarter 2. Please KEEP the report card and SIGN & RETURN the envelope to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

Per CVESD Board Policy, we work to limit interruptions to instructional time and ensure student safety by maintaining a closed campus:

• Once the 7:45 bell rings, the instructional day has begun; students and teachers are focusing on learning. Parents are asked to sign in at the office to obtain a badge if they have an appointment to volunteer or observe in the classroom.
• Please make sure your child has everything they need before coming to school: Water bottles, lunches, homework, backpacks, info regarding pickup, etc. The school office is not permitted to make deliveries or interrupt classroom instruction.

The Finney Walk/Run Club starts this Wednesday, January 15th. Prior to 7:40 a.m., students must be either on the track or in the cafeteria. For more information, see the Finney Run Club Flyer. Volunteers are needed, click here to sign up.
