April 22-26 is Pocket Poetry Week. Each student is encouraged to memorize a poem, and recite their poem to as many adults as possible in exchange for chance tickets. We need parent volunteers to be on the playground during recess to listen to poems and give out tickets. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up in the office. Recess times are as follows:

The Kinder Open House for incoming kindergarten families is Thursday, April 25, 5:00-6:30. Spread the word to families whose child will be 5 years old by September 1st!

We have some great workshops for parents coming up in May! Join us at Finney on May 2 at 8:00 a.m. for a Stress Management Workshop from Kaiser and on May 3 at 8:00 a.m. for a workshop on creating Positive Homework Habits.

Join us for the annual CVESD Family Fiesta, Special Education Resource Fair on Thursday, May 2 at Rogers Elementary.

End of Year Testing Begins April 29th. Click here for the 2019 Finney Testing Schedule. Please ensure students are well-rested and on-time for testing days and every day. Encourage your student to relax, and do their best. They have been working hard all year, and we are very proud of them.

A shout-out to Mrs. Gillespie’s class, room 203, for having 99% attendance last week–way to go! Finney’s overall attendance was 94% last week. Our goal is 98%. Be sure to bring your child to school every day on time. Every minute of every day counts!
