Quarter 3 starts on TUESDAY, January 15, a Minimum Day with 1:00 dismissal. We hope you had a wonderful break and we are looking forward to an exciting third quarter! We are thrilled to announce that Finney received new lunch tables over the break.

Extended Day and Jumpstart Tutoring for qualifying students begins Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2:30-4:00.

Congratulations to Mrs. Nguyen’s class, Room 402, for having 99% attendance the last week of December–way to go! Finney’s overall attendance was 95.3% last week. Be sure to bring your child to school every day on time. Every minute of every day counts!

Finney is honored to partner with the La Jolla Playhouse to bring their Arts Academy program to our students! This grant-funded project places professional teaching artists in schools with classroom teachers to incorporate theatre activities and exercises into existing curriculum.

Do you know a child who will be 5 years old by September 1st? Kindergarten registration for 2019-2020 begins February 20th. Finney needs everyone’s help with kindergarten recruitment. Filling up next year’s kindergarten classes early helps ensure that we will have highly qualified teachers for our students at all grade levels. CVESD is offering Kinder Readiness orientations for parents on February 4. Click here for more info.

The Great Kindness Challenge is Jan. 28-Feb. 1! Join us as we spread kindness around Finney, throughout our community, and our world. Volunteers are needed Jan. 28-Feb. 1 from 9:30-10:45 and 11:30-12:30 to supervise Kindness Challenge activities. Sign up in the office.
