Monday, November 12 is Veterans Day and there is NO SCHOOL.

Congratulations to Room 203 Mrs. Gillespie’s class for having 100% attendance last week! Our school attendance rate last week was 96%. This is too low! Our goal is 98%. We can do it! Be a part of your child’s academic success by bringing them to school every day on time.

As a reminder, Finney has a Dress Code, which is located in the Finney Parent Handbook. Here are some highlights from the dress code:

• For safety reasons,  students need to wear closed toe shoes with gripping,  non-slip soles suitable for physical education. 
• Shorts need to pass the student’s fingertips when arms are at his/her sides.
• Tank tops must have straps at least 3 fingers wide, and no crop tops are allowed.

Finney cares! During the month of November, we are collecting toys and non-perishable food for those in need.

The Annual Turkey Trot 5th Grade Fundraiser is Friday, Nov. 16th at 8:30 am. Please return the permission slip you received from your child’s teacher. Students must have a signed permission slip in order to run on Friday. Each child who turns in sponsorships will be entered for a chance to win a Turkey Dinner basket.
