Thursday, August 9th is Back to School Night, the Annual 6th Grade Gift Basket Auction, SSC and ELAC Elections 5-7 pm.



Screenagers is a movie for parents and kids ages 10 and up. All are welcome to attend! Please spread the word about this FREE showing at Finney on Aug. 23 at 6 pm. Childcare will be provided for children under 10. 5th and 6th grade students will view the movie in their classrooms on Aug. 24.

The First Day Packet that was sent home contains several important forms that must be completed and returned to your child’s teacher ASAP. These are:

  • Blue Finney Parent Handbook Form
  • White Disaster Information Card
  • Green Emergency/Health Information Form
  • White CVESD Release of Information
  • White CVESD Annual Parent Notification Form & Internet Use Agreement
  • White Parent Email Communication Form
  • Green Free & Reduced Meals Application (this is required for ALL students as we are being audited this year)

ALL bus riders must complete online application at cvesd.org.

Parents & Pastries is Friday, Aug. 3, 8:00-9:00 in Room 201. Come enjoy some refreshments and find out what’s happening at Finney!

Volunteer Orientation is Friday, Aug. 3 9:00-9:30 in Room 201. All new and returning volunteers should attend.

The Finney School Site Council (SSC) is seeking nominations for 3 parent members. For more information and the SSC Nomination Form, click here.

Finney English Learner Advisory Committee needs a Parent Representative to represent Finney’s English Learner parents at the monthly District Advisory Council/District English Learner Advisory Committee (DAC/DELAC) meetings, held on Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00 at the CVESD district office. Click here for more info and the DELAC Rep. Nomination Form.

DELAC Rep. and SSC Member Nomination Forms are due August 7, and elections will take place at Back to School Night on August 9.

Finney is participating in the Apex Fun Run fundraiser with a goal of raising $12,000 for new lunch tables. Click here for more information. Fundraiser starts Aug. 7.
