The first day of school is Monday, July 23 at 7:45 a.m., and is a minimum day with 1:00 dismissal. Students report directly to their classroom on the first day. Class lists will be posted outside the office.

Please note that at dismissal, upper grade (4th-6th) students will be dismissed through the gate adjacent to the lunch arbor. This will help relieve congestion at dismissal time.

Kindergarten has a special schedule the first week of school:
Monday: Kindergarten Orientation 8:00-9:30 (students and parents leave at 9:30)
Tuesday-Friday: Minimum Days for Kinder 1:00 Dismissal

Please review the Finney Parent Handbook for important information about our school. Also, please read the First Day Packet your child brings home, and sign and return all required forms promptly.

We do not allow visitors and volunteers during the first 2 weeks of school. Visitors and volunteers may begin coming on campus on August 6. Volunteers must attend volunteer orientation on Friday, Aug. 3, 9:00-9:30.

Finney English Learner Advisory Committee needs a Parent Representative to represent Finney’s English Learner parents at the monthly District Advisory Council/District English Learner Advisory Committee (DAC/DELAC) meetings, held on Tuesdays, 12:00-2:00 at the CVESD district office. DELAC Rep. and SSC Member Nomination Forms are due August 7, and elections will take place at Back to School Night on August 9.
