Pocket Poetry Week is April 23-27. Each student is encouraged to memorize a poem, and recite their poem to as many adults as possible in exchange for chance tickets. We need parent volunteers to be on the playground during recess to listen to poetry. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up in the office.

Arts=Opportunity is offering a FREE class for families at Finney: Reading Through The Arts. Two Friday sessions, 1:15-3:00 pm May 4 and 11, and a FREE museum field trip on Saturday, May 12. More information available here or in the school office.

In honor of Earth Day, our Science Teacher, Mrs. Diaz, invites you and your family to 3 Earth Stewardship parades on Tuesday, April 24th, Wednesday, April 25th, Thursday, April 26th. Mrs. Diaz, Mrs. Pridmore and our surprise Grand Marshals will meet you and your grownups on the corner of Norstad and Chanute to begin walking to school at 7:20 am. Look for the large blue banner. We will walk East on Chanute, turning on Piccard, then Byrd, to arrive at our Finney garden by 7:35 am. Click here for more information.
