Please join me in welcoming the newest member of the Finney office staff! Ms. Patricia Olivas, Attendance Secretary/Health Specialist. Ms. Olivas is grateful for the opportunity of being part of the team at Finney.  She has been part of the Chula Vista Elementary School District since December of 2015, when she started as a substitute Clerk and Student Attendant. She also brings over 25 years of experience as a bilingual Customer Service Representative. She says, “Let’s all focus on finishing this school year the best we can by having a positive attitude and staying healthy. This will allow us to be present every school day and achieve perfect attendance. Before you know it, you will be making plans for that summer break.”

Montgomery High School Girls’ Varsity Basketball Program is providing a basketball league for 3rd-6th grade students April 3-May 26. Tryouts for 3rd-6th grade basketball are April 3, 5, 10, and 12 at the Finney Basketball courts. You can pick up an application in the school office. The basketball program will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:15-4:30 and costs $25. Only students with a signed permission slip may participate. All 5th grade students are invited to apply for a free 2 week STEM Camp at UCSD this summer. Get an application here.

6th-12th grade girls and their mothers are invited to the Adelante Mujer! conference at UCSD April 14. This is a FREE opportunity to visit the university and learn about college and careers. Transportation will be provided. See more info here.

Calling all artists! It’s time to update our logo and we are currently accepting submissions for the Finney Bulldog Logo Contest. Email submissions to beverly.prange@cvesd.org by Friday, April 20.
