Week of November 13, 2017

Turkey Trot 2017Friday, Nov. 17 at 8:30 is the Finney Turkey Trot, an annual fundraiser to help our 5th graders achieve their goal of a Social Studies field trip. This year, the 5th graders’ goal is to visit the Star of India. You can help them reach their goal of $2000 by sponsoring your student to run/walk in the Turkey Trot. Each student who runs/walks in the trot must have a signed permission slip. Flyers and permission slips were sent home on Friday, and are available in the office or for download here. Each student who brings in donations will be entered into a raffle for a Thanksgiving Dinner-in-a-Basket, including a turkey and all the fixings.

Finney is participating in 2 Achieve 3000 contests this quarter. If you have a child in grades 2nd-6th, please ask your student about these exciting contests. Click here for details: Finney Usage Contest Read2Succeed

pantry_10441cWe are collecting canned food Nov. 6-16 and new toys Nov. 6-Dec. 1 for families in need.

To ensure your child’s safety, please follow all traffic laws. Some people are still crossing in the middle of the block, and this is against the law. Please only cross at the corner. We have received many requests for a crosswalk. Unfortunately, our street does not qualify for a cross walk.
