We will be following a regular schedule during the eclipse on Monday, August 21. You can read CVESD’s message about the eclipse here. It is just as dangerous to look at the sun during the eclipse as it is every other day.  Individuals should not look directly at the sun at any time. You may want to take a moment to reinforce this message at home.

Elections for School Site Council took place at Back to School Night on August 17. If you were unable to attend, you can still vote! Please stop by the office for a ballot on Monday.

San Ysidro Health Center is providing free dental screenings at Finney September 6-8. Please return the permission slip to your child’s teacher if you would like your child to participate.

We are seeking a Budget Advisory Council (BAC) representative for Finney. The group provides input to the CVESD Board of Education and Leadership on school funding. The first BAC meeting is scheduled for October 18, 2017 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Board Room, 84 East “J” Street, Chula Vista, 91910. If you are interested in serving as the BAC rep for Finney, please contact Dr. Prange.

CVESD is offering an opportunity for parents to preview the Adolescent Growth Education (A.G.E.) curriculum on Monday, August 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the CVESD district office, 84 East “J” Street, Chula Vista. Parents can browse through the teacher manuals, student booklets and also view the DVDs.
